Swissvax Opaque – Matte Paint Protection Without Compromise
Why Matte Paint Needs Specialized Care
Matte and satin paint finishes have a fundamentally different surface structure than glossy clear coats. Their flat, non-reflective texture is what gives them that distinctive look – but it also makes them vulnerable. Conventional car shampoos, waxes, and polishes contain gloss enhancers and fillers that can leave shiny spots, uneven patches, or permanently alter the matte character.
The same applies to matte-finished paint protection film (PPF) and vinyl wraps: using the wrong products risks turning a deliberate matte effect into an inconsistent, semi-glossy surface that cannot be reversed without re-wrapping.
The Swissvax Opaque product line was developed specifically for these surfaces. Every product in the range – from wash concentrate to carnauba wax – is formulated without gloss-enhancing agents, ensuring your matte or satin finish stays exactly as intended.
The Swissvax Opaque Product Line
Car Bath Opaque – pH-neutral wash concentrate without gloss enhancers. Cleans matte paint thoroughly without altering the finish. Dilute with water and use with a soft microfiber wash mitt.
Pre-Cleaner Opaque – Removes old sealants and embedded contaminants from matte surfaces before wax application. The essential preparation step for a clean, even result.
Opaque Wax (40% Vol. Carnauba) – Handcrafted carnauba wax that seals and protects matte paint for 2–3 months. Provides a durable barrier against UV, rain, and road contaminants – without adding any shine.
Quick Finish Opaque – Waterless detailing spray for on-the-go touch-ups. Removes fingerprints, bird droppings, insect residue, and light dirt while preserving the matte effect. Ideal between washes.

How to Wash, Protect & Maintain Matte Paint
Matte finishes reward proper technique and punish shortcuts. Follow these care steps to keep your satin or matte paint looking factory-fresh:
Always Hand Wash: Use Car Bath Opaque with the Waschpudel Fine wash mitt. The pH-neutral formula and scratch-free microfiber prevent surface damage that automatic car washes and stiff brushes cause on matte paint.
Avoid Gloss-Enhancing Products: Never use conventional shampoos, spray waxes, or quick detailers on matte surfaces. Even products labeled "safe for all paints" often contain gloss enhancers that will create shiny patches on matte finishes.
Remove Contaminants Quickly: Bird droppings, insect residue, and tree sap etch into matte surfaces faster than into clear-coated paint. Spray Quick Finish Opaque onto the affected area, let it dwell briefly, and wipe off gently with a soft microfiber cloth – do not let contaminants dry on the surface.
Seal Every 2–3 Months: Apply Opaque Wax with a Sponge Applicator and buff with a Micro-Fluffy cloth. The carnauba layer protects against UV, acid rain, and industrial fallout – and makes future washing easier because contaminants bond less aggressively to the sealed surface.
Use Only Matte-Specific Products: Every step of your care routine – from washing to quick detailing to sealing – should use products formulated for matte finishes. Browse our complete matte paint care collection for all available Opaque products and accessories.
