About Swissvax

Swissvax is a Swiss manufacturer of premium and luxury car care products with a strong international following among automotive enthusiasts, collectors, and concours competitors. Several premium automotive manufacturers trust Swissvax to develop and produce care products for their own brand programs.

The Swissvax system covers the complete care cycle for automobiles and yachts: washing, cleaning, polishing, sealing, and conditioning – all products harmoniously formulated to work together.

Like many exceptional products, Swissvax began at a family kitchen table. The old Anwander drugstore in Zurich served as both laboratory and production site for the first cans of carnauba wax – originally made for the personal use of company founder Hans Anwander.

Today, every product is still handcrafted in our Swiss wax factory and filled can by can. The formulations do not allow for industrial mass production – and we would not have it any other way. We make no compromises in our pursuit of the finest waxes and care products.

Until 2009, Swissvax was also known as Swizöl.

The Swissvax secret lies in our exceptionally durable carnauba wax formulations. Through a process called microencapsulation, hours of careful production create double-walled microparticles that bond to the paint surface and release their protective ingredients gradually – resulting in protection that lasts months, not weeks.

Unlike conventional polishes, Swissvax waxes contain no abrasives. They can be used on all paint systems: modern water-based finishes, nano coatings, self-healing clear coats, and even classic nitrocellulose lacquers. The Swissvax system consists of two steps: pre-treatment with Cleaner Fluid and sealing with carnauba wax. Both are easy to apply by hand and leave no white residue on rubber, trim, or panel edges.

Carnauba is the hardest, purest, most transparent, and most expensive natural wax in the world. It is harvested from the leaves of the Brazilian carnauba palm Copernica prunifera and classified by color and clarity. Only the rarest Grade One quality is used in Swissvax formulations.

The gloss depth of a wax increases directly with its carnauba content. While conventional car waxes contain 3–5% carnauba, Swissvax formulations contain 30–81% by volume – among the highest concentrations available anywhere.

Conventional polishes merely buff the surface to a temporary shine while the paint underneath continues to dry out. Swissvax carnauba formulations – enriched with oily extracts of passion fruit, orange, avocado, and vanilla – actively nourish the paint and restore its original depth of gloss. The result is a distinctive deep wet look that collectors and automotive enthusiasts recognize instantly.
