Step 1 — Wash
Always start clean, always by hand. Wash matt paint and matte film with Car Bath Opaque – a pH-neutral matt shampoo that cleans thoroughly without gloss enhancers or fillers. Use the Waschpudel Fine mitt and the two-bucket method, then dry streak-free with Ultra Dry to avoid water spots. Automatic washes and stiff brushes damage matte surfaces – skip them.
Step 2 — Decontaminate
Before sealing, strip old sealant residue and embedded contaminants with Pre-Cleaner Opaque. It prepares the finish for a clean, even bond with the wax – without abrasives and without touching the matt effect. Matte surfaces are never polished: this is the correction step that keeps them flawless.
Step 3 — Seal
At the heart of the line is Opaque Wax – a carnauba wax we make by hand in Fällanden, formulated without gloss enhancers specifically for matt finishes. With 40% Vol. carnauba, it seals against UV, acid rain, and road contaminants and makes future washing easier – all while keeping the satin look intact. Reapply every 2–3 months. Two ways to extend protection beyond the wax – choose one, don't combine them on the same surface. Keramiq9 is a water-based spray ceramic, tested matte-neutral: it adds no gloss and delivers up to 12 months of hydrophobic protection on matt paint, film, glass, and plastic – apply one day after waxing, 30–60 minutes, no masking. Lotos Speed is the lighter alternative – a quick-detailing sealant you refresh after each hand wash. Do not layer Lotos Speed over Keramiq9.
Step 4 — Maintain
Between washes, Quick Finish Opaque removes fingerprints, bird droppings, insect residue, and light dirt without water and without residue – keeping the matt surface even and clean while preserving the wax seal underneath. Avoid gloss-enhancing products. Never use conventional shampoos, spray waxes, or quick detailers on matte surfaces – even products labeled "safe for all paints" often contain gloss enhancers that create shiny patches.
